i attempted to try using the testors opaque for airbrushing and i ended upwith a body looking like i had done it in a dusty eviroment…are these paints any good or do they need to be to be strained.
i can say this is not my first attempt at trying to master my airbrushing technique…
what am i doing wrong?
If you got a grainy/dusty finish (ie. if you run your fingertips over it and pick up grit/dust) you probably airbrushed from too great a distance or with too high an air pressure, causing some of the paint to dry between the airbrush and the surface.
Reduce the air pressure and get up close and personal (inside 6 inches between the airbrush and subject).
My new compressor puts out less pressure (15 max), so I get even closer than before, and find I am about two inches from the surface to be painted. I consider an airbrush to be more like a regular brush, not a spray gun. And, yes, like the previous post, I find grainy finish usually results from too great a distance, too high a pressure, or both.
BTW, what is Testors Opaque. Is that a color, or a new type of paint? I had not heard of it before.
