Anyone else pre-order a Wing-Scale 1/32 B-25?

Hey gang,

I was wondering if anyone else had placed a pre-order for one of the new 1/32 B-25s from wing-scale http://www.wing-scale.com/?

I got on the list for one of the Glass Nosed birds. Price I was estimated, was 95 euros (about $123). Judging from the prototype pictures I’ve seen, it’s going to be worth every cent.

Maybe if other people get in on it, we can run a group build, or something.

I am interested in the kit, but wasn’t sure of the price. is the 95 Euros a set price? Might have to wait on that for another month or two.

…no…

Pilot, that’s the price that’s being thrown around now, but they’ll know for sure when they start taking official pre-orders in December. At that time, you’ll be able to confirm, or back out of, your pre-order spot.

Manny, thank you for your insightful input [;)], LOL

-Fred

Yes, I am on the pre-order list

Now…if only they’d make a 1/32 B-26 Marauder I’d be in heaven!

Wow, this is the first I’m hearing of this, I’ll have to check it out! [:)]

1/32 B-25? What would the wingspan on this be?!

I think somebody on LSP did all the calculations. Here’s a long discussion, that shows some prototype shots and discusses the design and whatnot http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=30276

B-25’s were 52’ 11" in length, wingspan of 67’ 6" and height of 17’ 7". That translates to 19.84" long, 25.13" wingspan and 6.59" tall in 1/ 32 scale.

I tried to contact these folks through the web site in the first post. No reply yet. Anyone have a good idea on how to order one of these?

When I sent them an email, an auto reply came back saying they are on a small holiday and won’t respond till Friday the 13th

Ooooh, CREEPY

Hi,

Yes, I have pre ordered the 3 versions on one of my favourite shop (Kitsdiscount.com) , I am impatient to see them, the photos show that the models will be great.

I was tempted, but I wouldn’t have enough left to pay for the divorce attorney.

Things are still calming down from when the Trumpeter 1/32 F-14D showed up on the doorstep a couple of months ago.

If I just build half of what is in my in my stash now, I’m going to have to add another room to the house.

That’s certainly a matter of opinion… If Revell can pop out a 1/32 Ju-88 for 45.00 bucks or so, there’s no reason others can’t, IMHO…

That’s like saying “well, if GM can build a car for $5000, there’s no reason you can’t build a car of higher quality, in your garage, for the same amount”

Wing-Scale is a small operation. They’re not kicking out tens of thousands of the same kit, from some $4 a day factory in China. W-S is making 2500 of each version, then that’s it - no more. There’s no way they can compete with a bulk producer, like Revell. I like Revell, but their work is nowhere near as detailed as the piece W-S is putting out. And that’s fine, but it’s simply a game of “you get what you pay for”.

I understand, there are people who can’t afford a $125 model - I know, I’m one of them. But, I’m forgoing a lot of other, less expensive kits, to save for this one. I’m sure I can get some other 1/32 B-25, for $45. But, knowing there is one of much higher quality, I wouldn’t be happy with it. But that’s me. I’d rather have 10 high quality kits, than 50 average quality kits.

Very interesting, worth checking out for sure, no wife no problem [ap] [:D]

FYI-I have been working up the new ads for Sprue Brothers and Wingscale. There is a B-26 and P-61 coming out after the B-25. Watch for the ad in the Jan '11 issue of FSM. I did a report on it already on my blog. As the information about future releases is cleared I will continue to let everyone know. There are some subjects of real interest in the cue but because of confidentiality agreements I have to keep it [:#]

I preordered two of their B-25’s . My question to every one Is has ANYONE recieved any kind of confirmation for their preorder? There seems to be no way that anyone can verify their orders!

Which vendor did you preorder from?

If it was Sprue Brothers, you have two choices, get notify when these items are available which puts you on the preorder list…a pop up window confirms this and you have to commit to it. If you elect to pay in advance, which by the way SB doesn’t take your money until the item physically ships, you’ll get an email notification that the items are in stock and available for shipping.
