Anyone attempted this??

Hi,
1/350 ejector seats, its my first attempt at using PE. Their not perfect, but I do hope to get my eyesight back in a few days.[8D]

Hey Dave,
You dont get out much do ya…??? LOL[:p][:p][;)]. OOo thats tinie tiny scale. What aircraft are they off of?? Do you primarily build in 1/350th or do you rotate?? So what type of tools do you use on PE in this scale?? How many beers do you see??
Hows this…

Very impressive. Thanks fer sharing.

Flaps up, Mike

Pass on that project all I see is 2 shiny blobs…But seriously that is very cool. Nice work indeed.

Well done mate, it is awesome. I would not try it.

Going out would eat into my valuable modeling time[:)]
I particularily look forward to the moment when I glue on the microscopic canopy, and all that work is completeley obscured!!

Incidently, Butz, how did you get the image to show? I couldn’t get that url to load up on the forum page

It won’t be obscured. The angels and we will know it’s there.

Cheers, I feel better now.
They’re actually going in an F14 for the Trumpeter Nimitz, just a test run to see if I can get a decent finish on one of these 1/350 aircraft. Yes it’s overkill, but I’m interested in carriers so I want a higly detailed look to this.

If my eyeballs don’t implode, and I don’t have a nervous breakdown in the meantime I’ll update this thread later. Thanks for the coments.

By the time you’re done your eyes are going to be crossed LOL.

Nice work. You should show us a picture of the canopy and how thick it is. I would definitely go with a very thin vacuum formed canopy instead. That would probably allow more detail to be seen in the cockpit …maybe?

I think that if you’re planning to do a whole carrier full of these that you need to invest in one of those video/magnification units that neurosurgeons use when operating. Either that, or a nice white jacket with 5-foot arms.

Ive already got a magnifying stand, although it doesn’t really help much, only for inspecting the final piece perhaps. Not during construction, it just gets in the way. The straight jacket I’ll have to think about.

Trying to handle those seats during construction was nasty. Just one fumble and they seemed to just vanish! (being 4mm high and all)

Great suggestion regarding the canopy, although vac-forming isn’t a skill I have presently. Cheers.
