I am in the mood to build a F-117 stelth.what is the best well priced 1 that i can find?with good decals? thx -brad[:D]
Tamiya 1/48 is an excellent kit but spendy.

i just finished an academy 1/72 i think it was $15 canadian. The kit cockpit is sort of barren,but the decals seem ok to me. Its in the stealth gb thread if you want to see it

I just finished 2 of them in 1/72 scale. One of them was the Revell kit from about 1992 and the other was the Hasegawa release of 2000. Both were great builds. The Hasegawa kit has much better cockpit detail and just slightly better outline while the Revell kit has the detailed bomb bay with extended bomb racks. I tossed the Revell decals and used the second option from the Hasegawa kit. Hope this helps.

You even get an open wpn bay with the trapeze thingies for the bombs - and bombs!

No other kit comes close that I’ve seen or heard of as far as detail and fit. Check ebay. You can almost always find one for 20-30$ US. Be warned though, if you go retail, you’re looking about $52. Plenty of aftermarket details like Black Box, Verlinden, Eduard etc. etc.

well I built the Monograms & Testors/Italeri’s 117 back when they first came out in the early 90’s, and the Monogram had the better cockpit but the T/I has the weapons bay, I know that there are now newer kits out there but for their time the Monograms was the better of the 2
Didn’t the Monogram kit also come with the PE kit (a cool idea) and that god-awful yellow sprue for the canopy FLIR windows etc? It’s a decent kit as far as it went, but can’t hold a candle to Tamiya’s or as I understand it, Hasegawa’s either. The big one to avoid would be the old Testor’s 1:32 kit which was horribly out of scale and dimension. They missed a lot of major structural details and just guessed. In their defence, the kit came out shortly after the first blurry photos were released of the aircraft and so I’m sure for the time, it was great. Now we know better though! 
I just got done with Academy’s 1/48th kit and it went together pretty good. No fit probs. decent cockpit detail and weapons bays. Decals were pretty good also. It wasn’t too spendy either. I think I got it for about $20.00 from a hobby store.
