Just getting back into the hobby after about 20 years and I’m really wanting to do a Late 60’s GP build. The ones I’ve been able to find searching seem not very detailed or inaccurate according to the builders. Is there anything good out there? I’m not real picky on car teams or makes. Also want to keep the price reasonable… Thanks for input
I too am just getting back into modelling. You might want to consider the Union 1/24 scale Lotus 49B, Brabham BT33, and McLaren M70.
Those three kits - Lotus 49, Brabham BT33 and McLaren M7C were originally produced by Heller. Union picked them up and updated the instructions and added a bit of chrome on some of the bare metal parts, but no significant changes.
They frequently show up on eBay (more often Heller than Union boxes), but they aren’t cheap in my mind. Prices usually range from $35 to $50, with just occasional low starting prices. I love those kits, and do think they are worth up to $50 or so.
If you are interested in more obscure types, Heller also made a couple of F2 and F3 cars, much less common at eBay. You might find them boxed by Heller, Union or AMT, from USA - all the same contents.

Thanks, I’ll look into those kits
Tamiya makes a 1965 Honda RA272 that looks great and is available from most hobby stores online.

Ebbro makes an outstanding Lotus 49 along with early 70’s Lotus 72c and Tyrell. Mold quality/ kit engineering is comparable to current Tamiya. Do a search for “Ebbro 1/20” on Web search and/ or ebay. Kits are $50 - $60 and photoetch AM available. Ebbro definitely worth the price IMO.
