Any paper modelers out there

I mainly build in plastic, but every once in a while I’ll go paper - mainly ‘pre-Dreadnought’ era ships. Last one I did was the HMV 1/250 USS Maine during the pandemic lockdown - then got so fascinated with one of the ship’s boats included on that - an experimental torpedo launch - that I researched and scratchbuilt it in a larger (but still modest) 1/72 scale. It’s an era that fascinates me - most ships look like a cross between ‘modern technology’ and something out of Jules Verne.
Here are a few shots of the steam torpedo launch:

I am like many others- I use *all * materials, including paper. I have been posting in the paper modeling forum, but with the recent reduction in catagories, I will move posts to ships- project is paper E. Fitzgerald.

You will not be wasting much money. There are many very cheap or free resources available. Yes, there are some expensive ones, but these are super-detailed and not for a first time paper kit.

First, Welcome Ronald to the forums.
re: the the give paper modeling a try, DO you will be delighted, amazed and frustrated, confused. See?, just like plastic modeling. There are several youtube videos available but some are only fast forwarding videos of the person building , of limited value if your trying to get started. On the other hand there is Neil of neilpapermodels https://www.youtube.com/@neilpapermodels who does take the time to explain as he builds. Plus others I’m sure you will find.

I have taken a couple of shots of my paper Edmond Fitzgerald. Used my cell phone, which is USB C. My computer does not have a USB C, which computer I need to post. Or, is it possible to post from my cell phone?

My phone is an Android and I post photos from it easily. I would assume Iphones would be equally compatible. If not already enabled, you’d just have to click on your browser (or app) settings to insure they have ‘permission’ to access your phone’s storage (or wherever the photos are kept).

Sorry, forgot to link to link to your question, response above. Still getting used to the new format…

Here’s one I did years ago before I built the Pegasus Nautilus. I used plastic Googly Eyes for the domes and windows..
