Okay…
I positively know I’m looking forward to their release also![:D]

Panda positively won’t answer e-mail inquiries![:(!]

I’m positive the kit will be a hit![;)]

and I’m also positively sure there is nothing new to report as of today… [V]

You know about as much as we do… but I believe there’s brighter days on the horizon for us “Oldhookers”… (right Chiefowl?) [;)]

Take care,
Frank

Oldhooker,

Well I think that depends on Panda.

But I sure do want the “Oldhookers” as well as all the other Modelers to be happy in the future… [^][;)][^][;)][^][;)]

We will see what Panda will do.

BTW Oldhooker, did you get my last e-mails?

Regards

I was thinking about this today as well.

Has anyone else taken up sucking their thumb when ever this topic comes up?
now…where’s my blankie!

William,

Yes, and you should have an e-mail explaining the delay in your Inbox. [:)]

Take care,
Frank

Looks like I’ll be shelling out some serious money on kits once I get back stateside. A 1/35 Chinook will look great next to my pavehawk, a pair of cobras and a huey, all in 1/35, of course. Now I just need an AH-6 (or two) and a 1/35 -53 and -46 in USMC markings!!!

What about the new 1/48 CH46E from Academy/MRC ??

Oh, I already have plans for getting the Academy -46, don’ t worry. I just want them in 1/35 as well! If you’re gonna dream, may as well dream big!

Yeah I know what you mean! last night I had this dream that my wife and these other two girls [censored]

OOPS! I’m getting a bit off subject here!

Between Trumpeter and Academy who knows what will happen? Trumpeter is more likely to produce the 1/35 stuff …I think.

What is going on with Panda…Who knows!

From what I have heard about the Panda UH-1 kits, I wouldn’t have the time or patience to correct and build a Chinook produced by them.
And hey Troy!! I think I had that same dream!! Only it wasn’t YOUR wife!!! I don’t think??? [:I] [:O]
SEE YA!!!

Randie [C):-)]

I hadn’t heard anything on the Panda Hueys, I’ve got one I picked up before I left Oki, but then, I’m not all that much of a rivet counter, just as long as it looks like a Huey sitting on the shelf, next to my Cobra and Pavehawk, that’ll be just fine for me.

Now, where to put the next shelf for the hook and phrog…???

Neither am I, John. I have just heard about assembly difficuties. But, Cobra Company DOES offer an update and correction set!!
I’ll wait and see if someone will post their honest review of an actual build and then I’ll go from their. I really would like to have the UH-1N twin huey.

Randie [C):-)]

If there are difficulties, then I want to know about them as well. Nothing more annoying than looking forward to a fun build and winding up on the verge of “drop testing” your model. I just hadn’t really heard anything either way on it. I have to say, all this talk is making me itch to get home and start in on ANY kit. I think I have the -1N, and I have a AH-1T and -1W (the MRC kits) waiting on me, after I spend some serious time with my family. (And I have to unpack all of my stuff and set my office/workshop up).

Next time, I make space in one of the quadcons for a couple of kits and sundries…

All the talk about steak and beer on some of these threads wasn’t bad enough, you have to go and throw this out there and complete the trifecta. Talk about torturing a Marine while he’s deployed!! [(-D]

The Panda kits aren’t hard to build at all, they just are sloppy in the details and the rivets and seam lines are huge. Each rivet would be about 1" wide in actual size and seams would be a couple of inches across. The shape is correct and it does look like a Huey. It can look great, just takes a lot of work to get there.
Here is the UH-1D/H model.

Here is one that someone did as a modern UH-1N USMC in Iraq. Notice the rivet size around the front doors and canory glass, huge!! But, it can come out nice.

I can live with that. Those are some HUGE rivets, but maybe some sanding can reduce that. Good link, too. Thanks!

Sorry Lemon!

Where should I send you the back issues of penthouse? [8D]

Hey Randie…it was only a dream…its cool!

Now back to Helos!

Thanks Troy. Glad you see it that way!! Whew!
Now, to the subject at hand. After looking at those two builds, I may have to check out the Panda kits myself. I can live with a little extra elbow grease, but from what I had heard before this, it would have taken a 55 gallon drum of stuff. Thanks for the honest appraisal, Arty.

Randie [C):-)]

If those back issues showed up over here, I’d have riots on my hands, but thanks for the offer.LOL[:D] Now, when can we see some new plastic helos???
