¡Any nation 75mm gun GB! (Photos inside)

For this year special contests a member of my local hobby club suggested a 75mm gun category and, while the members are more aircraft oriented, it turned out to be a popular one.
So I thought it would be cool to share with you guys this idea and have a group build at the same time.
The rules are:
**1.-**Any WWII land vehicle (tank, armored car, half-track…) that has a 75mm gun. The gun must be mounted on the vehicle, not towed.
**2.-**Any scale
**3.-**Starting today (can join later). Ending 16 june 2005.
**4.-**Build should be enjoyed not endured.
I will post the pictures of the contenders from the local hobby club as well as the winner on june 16-17.
I made this badge, but I’m open to suggestions:

So far the list is:
tankergeoff - DML Normandy Panther A
SteelSnail - Academy Stug IV

Well, actually the group build was originally about the 75mm Kw.K cannon specifically, but the club organizers changed the rules to include any german 75mm gun (Stu.K, pak or whatever).
But I see your point.
Ok, I will change the rule.

Put me down for a DML Stug, not sure the exact one yet, will pick up the kit maybe tonight…

Great. I’ll add you to the list.

lol… only a 2-man groupbuild?

just think what it was before you joined[:D]

his model club is in there too

oh, we can get jwest21 to join… he’s like Mikey in the Life Cereal commercials…

You could say is a 2 + 5 GB [:P]

steel snail, change it to a DML Normandy Panther A

Done.

started on the Panther… great kit. show some pics tomorrow morning…

well, it’s a start anyways…

Yeah. Nice looking kit.
Are those the kit instructions? I think I have never seen instructions in color.
BTW another guy from the local club entered the gb. He is building a 1/25 panther from academy. The size looks impressive, but the kit detail is just ok. It comes with rubber tracks and he thought it’s an old tamiya mold, but we aren’t shure.

yeah, i was suprised at the color pics…

I know we are few in the GB but, anyway, as the forum badge policy changed I made a new one (wasn’t satisfied just resizing). You can see it and copy it’s location from my signature.

If you open it up for aircraft you may get some of the wingy guys to build a B25J (or was it the B25H that had the 75mm)

O.K. I know this GB didn’t generate much interest, still I’m almost finished with my Stug IV.
I think there are going to be at least 8 entries from the local hobby club. Mostly stugs.
Here are a couple of pics:

To be sincere I have built few armor models. This is the fisrt time I do a camo, with my airbrush, without masking. I think it turned out ok, but there are loads improving room.
It’s built OOB. It’s still lacks antennas and some mudding. That’s the task for this weekend.

i’m still building mine… just haven’t finished it, but it’s not a panther… pics in about a month, if that’s not too late.

how about a 57mm gun? i want to build a zis-2. hey, it’s the same digits… [:)]

Here are the photos of the contest. It turned out great. Lots of entries and some great.
It was crowded, so I didn’t had a chance to take my time with the camera, but here they are:

The monster in the dio is supposed to have a 75mm gun as secondary weapon.

Here’s the winner. An stug III with a great camo and lots of extras:

Panther of the far right won 2nd place and the gray stug III won 3rd:

There’s the giant panther (1/25) and next to it my stug IV (first time I do a freehand camo and mudding):

And a last general shot:

I’m moving to another town so it was my last meeting with this club (club la Silla). It was a great one, but I’m going to miss 'em.
