Any interest in picking up where I left off?

Some of you may remember post of mine going back several years now, beginning with my attempt to add light and detail to a Tamiya F-117A nighthawk. My project evolved and sadly after several years of work I never quite got it to a level I was completely happy with. Therefore I never finished it either.

In time, I bought several more kits (always the Tamiza 1:48, 117A) to try different things with, and for extra parts as well. As it stands now, I think I’ve gone through four or five kits, two of the Hasegawa 1:48 ground equipment kits, four or five (that I can remember) photo etch kits and resin update sets from the likes of Verlinden, Black Box and Eduard. Probably one or two other makers I don’t recall as well. Also a couple of decal sheets from Two Bobs as I never came to a final conclusion as to which version of the bird I wanted to end up with.

The project remains in an unfinished state today. And sadly, I see no time or energy to finish it off at this point in life. I would however like to know if any of the modeling geniuses here would like to pick up the pieces (as it were) and have a go at something fun? Included would also be all the original electronics including: lightsheet (for the wingtip nav lights), various LED’s and custom circut boards, fiber optic strands, an amalgum of random resistors, IC circuts, switches etc., theatre gel swatches, and various and sundry tools and random bits I had thought useful at one time or another.

Any takers? The kits alone sell now for something like $52 if I remember correctly, not to mention the add ons & updates, the Two Bobs sheets, and all the headaches trying to deal with the clowns behind the counter at Radio Shack when buying electrical bits.

I’d like to ask enough only to cover proper packaging, shipping and my gas to get this off to the post. I expect $40 would cover everything well enough for a new home somewhere in the US. Probably not much more at all if going overseas. I am open to negotiation on cost of course. And if there’s someone local to the Salt Lake area you’re welcome to come by, have a look and pick up as well.

That is of course, if anyone’s interested. I really don’t want to let these kits languish in my attic anymore. Feel free to send me a note at: bri.dobson@gmail.com if you have a bench in need of a new project.

I forget if this post breaks any of the forum rules in providing a kit for sale here. If so please delete. Only wishing good ju ju today thanks.

All the best!

Brian~

Wow, Brian! Great story and a very magnaminous offer! Not my cup of tea…but if you feel you won’t continue with it…I’m sure you’ll find a taker.

We all have something that has been sitting…and sometimes we know it’s time to move on. (Well, I new back to the hobby, but still have 20 year old stuff on a shelf somewhere![(-D]

Good luck!

True enough!

Here are some pics (that some may remember) of the original concept:

I figure that after almost ten years, and several moves without even looking in the boxes, they deserve better.

Thanks for looking all
