Any insiders know how 1701 Refit is selling worldwide?

I’m curious as to how well the PL 1701 Refit is selling worldwide? Of course it sells well among Sci-Fi modelers, but wondering how well it sells in general?

Any insiders have the scoop?

A member of my local model club was at Wonderfest as a vendor (John’s Models) and said he sold nearly 2 cases (24 kits) during the event. He has also sold 4 or 5 kits out of his local shop since they came out. I know that doesn’t reflect a huge amount of data, but it’s all I’ve heard…

I went to my first wonderfest this year and I saw alot of people walking out with refits. I think any vendor that had them sold them all. There is a post on Hobbytalk forums that say RC2 has sold out the entire run of the kit. That doesn’t mean that the distributors have sold out but it’s encouraging.[tup]

Thanks for the replies. I’m really curious to see how a kit like that would do not just in the niche market, but in the general market as well.
