Another..........StuG G This Bacon is Done! 1/1/08 Doh

All PE came with the kit. Came with 2 sheets of PE, metal tow cables, copper wire, and metal rod for antenna’s and such. Thanks for the comment Bill!!!

Moving right along now. Got the other shurzen fence done and on the vehicle. Also got the stowage fence built. Getting closer and closer to paint. Need to assemble the barrel, brake, and mantlet and then its off to the paint booth!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Jester,

You should remove the round brake light on the right fender, these weren’t present on the G’s.

Done, thanks for the input Bill!

Looking great Eric![tup]

Thanks Joe and DHM!!

…looking good…[tup][tup]

Some pics with some paint slapped on this thing. Primed it with flat black and then hit it with rattle can ModelMasters Afrika Mustard. Looks a bit different with paint on it since you can no longer see the PE, white metal and plastic parts. Comments and crits welcome as always!!

Stunning so far. Nice to see her with a coat on.

Looks great…Is that gap supposed to be there where the roof meets the front part?

I’ve seen many come with tarps over that area.

On my DML III G early I left the whole roof unglued since there was a partial interior to be seen.

Thanks for the comments Eric and Ian.

Ian- Are you talking about the gap between the roof and the mantlet?? I have heard that there is a cover that was put over this gap sometimes but havent seen it. Any photo reference of this area would be greatly appreciated.

Also, there are no interior details in this thing at all so no loss to glue her all up!!

Looking good…gonna go w/ monotone or a camo scheme? A lot of these late war types were overall dark yellow…

Nothing fancy here Manny. Simply Mustard with some weathering. Going to try and hand paint some boar tusks and eyes on the mantlet like the reference pics I have seen. I havent seen that get modeled too much. Thanks for looking MR!!

That gap there is just fine–it’s supposed to be there. You CAN cover it up with a tarp but more often than not it was just left open.

Jester, huge thanks to you for posting the WIP on this StuG! I just started reading this post and I had no idea the Gunze kits were like this! Great build so far, I’ve totally enjoyed seeing all your hard work putting this together! Betcha used a LOT of CA!! [tup]

Little update to the StuG. Got some decals added in there in the form of 2 crosses on each side of the hull. Also added a little something special to the mantlet that you dont see modeled often. Gave it a bit of brushing and rubbing with some raw umber oil and some drybrushing with buff. Still working on the new digi-cam so more pics will follow when I learn how to use the thing better, lol. Anyways, here is a pic of the update. As always comments and crits are welcome…

Okay, that boar’s head on the “boar’s head” mantlet is too cool…is that a decal?
