This one is a MkVIII called Lonesome Polecat which served with the USAAF in Italy in 1943. Its the 1/48 Hasegawa kit and I’ve built it straight from the box. It took me a little longer than ususal due to me messing up the paint job(that’ll teach me to actually check my references in future [:D]) so after a good sanding and re-spray she does’nt look too awful[:o)]
You have a “.” between “DSCF0018” & the word “sized”, then “.jpg”. Unless the picture is named “sized”, it isn’t going to show up.
Once you’ve uploaded your picture, open it on the site you’ve uploaded it to… put the curser on the picture and right click, then choose “properties” from the drop down menu… copy that URL, and use it in your post.
Wonderful Spitfire Tango1! I just picked up the supplemental edition of Flight Journal featuring that very plane. I had a brief conversation with the hobby shop owner earlier this week, and he mentioned that the Hasagawa kit featured those markings, guess he was right![:D]
Thanks for posting it and sharing with us,
Many thanks for your kind words fellas! I’m sure glad folks like it after all the trouble of getting the pics up on screen! Thanks for letting me share this one with you.
Mark, the decals are out of the box and they worked fine. I think this boxing of the MKVIII was one of their “limited production runs” for USAAF markings-so if you see it, get it while you can.
