Another Spitfire finished. (Updated Pics!)

[:)]Hi Everyone,

This one is a MkVIII called Lonesome Polecat which served with the USAAF in Italy in 1943. Its the 1/48 Hasegawa kit and I’ve built it straight from the box. It took me a little longer than ususal due to me messing up the paint job(that’ll teach me to actually check my references in future [:D]) so after a good sanding and re-spray she does’nt look too awful[:o)]

Hope you guys like her[:)]

Darren.

Guys, I don’t know what’s with the X’s where the other pics are supposed to be, I’ll try and sort it out.

I think it looks very nice.

I like to see Spitfires in other then RAF markings.

I am looking forward to your other pictures.

Darren…

I know what’s the matter… your path is as follows:
http://rongeorge.com/albums/upload/DSCF0018.sized.jpg

You have a “.” between “DSCF0018” & the word “sized”, then “.jpg”. Unless the picture is named “sized”, it isn’t going to show up.

Once you’ve uploaded your picture, open it on the site you’ve uploaded it to… put the curser on the picture and right click, then choose “properties” from the drop down menu… copy that URL, and use it in your post.

Hope this helps…
Frank

Looks great I always wanted to do that scheme. Thats the scheme that comes with the ICM kit.

Very nice work on the Spit. Looks great in that scheme. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Thanks for the kind words fellas! As you can see the pics are now where they should be-thanks to Frank for helping me out.

Darren.

Nice work!

Bravo!

Wonderful Spitfire Tango1! I just picked up the supplemental edition of Flight Journal featuring that very plane. I had a brief conversation with the hobby shop owner earlier this week, and he mentioned that the Hasagawa kit featured those markings, guess he was right![:D]
Thanks for posting it and sharing with us,

Very nice work on the Spitfire, Darren. Were those the kit decals too?

Mark

Mark, Dragonfly,

Thanks for your kind words guys!

Mark, the decals are out of the box and they worked fine. I think this boxing of the MKVIII was one of their “limited production runs” for USAAF markings-so if you see it, get it while you can.

Regards,

Darren,

Very nice looking Spit

Thad

Many thanks Thad!

glad to share it with you,

Darren.
