another repetitive question.

ok, this has been asked b4 i know it…however now it pertains to me[:D]
what is an accurate or closely accurate color for us armor in iraq? i guess im looking for that “yellow” color. i know many people have said to use tamiya dark yellow as a base coat. i’ve used testors army/marine sand…that’s too dark. any help would be appreciated b4 i blow another $50 model [:D] thanks 60

in the words of heavyarty

Testors MM Sand, FS# 33531, is an exact, out of bottle match to modern CARC Sand found on US vehicles.

hope this is what you nedd

sgtkopp

Second and fully agree with my words through sgtkopp. A perfect match.

Do they manufacture that colour in their Acryl range of colours?

Don’t know for sure, but they probably do. I hate acrylics and don’t use them. Sorry.

heavyarty, do gunze make an acrylic that would suit ?

Dave

like the other guys, MM sand

thanks guys. i will have to look for that color!

Flo-quil earth is a good color out of the bottle.

No idea, see my above post about acrylic paints.

Yes MM does make an acrylic. The bottle number is #4720. It’s in the white labeled bottles.

Im sure its been mentioned before (Im new to the fourm) But the factory color does not last long out here (Im in Baghdad). A good few of the vehicles have been painted in theater, and some are still sand color from the '91 war. Even if it does get shipped over here factory fresh (which does happen) the general wear and tear will cause shading differences to paint jobs. I will try to get some pics for you to show you the different shades of sand we have over here.

Joe

Thanks. I had some trouble before matching up some of their enamel shades to shades produced in their acryl line of paints.
