Another pair of ponys in the stable!

Got these knocked out this evening, for the NMF II GB.

Both are Hasegawa 1/48.

“Big Beatiful Doll” decals are from Super Scale, flaps are KMC (saving the elevators and rudder for a Tamiya build) and the drop tanks are True Details resin.

The ramjet pony is OOB…no mods…plain and simple. The ramjets are resin and included in the kit.

Next!!!

Big Beautiful Doll is truly beautiful! Very nice work on your entire squadrong of 'Stangs.

And I do have a question for you in looking at the photo of your “stable” - you have a couple of warbirds hanging on the wall but I can’t get the picture big enough to detect how you have them mounted to the wall. Can you share or is that a trade secret?

Thanks[t$t]

As far as the trade secret, first, I bore out the wheels and load them with magnetized dust, then I bore out two holes in the wall and CA in a pair of magnets about the diameter of a penny. These magnets should match up with the main wheels. I paint over the magnets, so you can’t see em. Actually, it’s just a bit of fishing line looped around the tail, hung on a tiny finish nail!

they look gorgeous fermis, you planning on building the entire 357th?

You crack me up!

Nice looking and well done!

Beautiful job rounding up two more Mustangs, Fermis… Especially with Landers’ Doll

Just between you you, me, & the corral gate- Might I suggest a 55th FG Pony? M’ dear sweet pappy flew for that unit and I think they had about the best paint scheme… Plus, I get to play (meaning I I’m a wing-wiper, 1st Class) with THIS one on a semi-regular basis…

Nice additions to a great collection.

Excellent Builds [Y]. Seems like the Super Scale decals conformed nicely to the Hasegawa contours.

Regards, Rick

Well done Fermis, not that I’m surprised. I’m no Mustang expert by any means - what’s the story with the ramjets? I’ve never seen that setup before…

Nice work Mr. Mustang. Keep 'em comin. Rick

The Doctor has done it again. Nice work my friend… Is that ram jet from the IPMS Contest? I was going to buy that?

Thanks everybody!!![t$t]

The ramjet mustang was for testing, that’s about all I know about it, other than one of the jets blew up, plane crashed, pilot was able to bail out.

Yup!!! You shoulda picked it up on friday, I wasn’t there!!![6]

WOW, they both look amazing.[t$t] Thats the first time I’ve ever seen a ramjet pony before.

Good looking Stangs, Fermis!

Hans, I too think the 55 FG has the best paint job of any Stang!

Great job on the 'stangs, Fermis! BTW - in the last photo, what is the pilot figure standing on some grass? Is that some ind of kit that’s available - or is it a casting, etc?

The figure is 120mm, from Verlinden. The base is a precut plaque from a craft store with model railroad grass and some (dried moss) weeds.
