Another Mustang but NOT shiny this time

This is the Acc Min P-51 C that I had originally started to be the Weeks 51C I posted recently. When I realized hat one did not have the tail fillet I put this one aide for the moment. This is where it is at the moment. Just need some white theater bands on the wings and a yellow leading edge.

This is my first attempt at a free hand camo. Not as unhappy as I thought I would be, but the results are not thati had hoped for and nowhere near as good as I have seen others accomplish. The feathered edge scales to probably 4 inches wides. So it’s practice, practice, practice. There is preshading and post fading.

Still looks real good from where I’m sitting, Marc! You have the shading techniques down to a science, and your first attempt at freehand camo…very nice indeed! I’ll be watching this one with a great deal of interest. Keep us posted! [tup]

nice camo shading !

Looks like a fine paint job. Nothing to worry about there. It could be worse, like my current Mustang project. While trying to improve my natural metal finish, I had a little accident with a buffing wheel! I’ll be repainting it very soon[D)] <-duh!

Marc, that looks really good!!![tup] That freehand painting is very good for your first time, I do not think I could come close with my first attempt. Keep those pics coming!!

Chris

Camo scheme looks fantastic! Freehand airbrushing makes it look all the more realistic.

Marc, Pat yourself on the back! Great job!

I don’t know Marc, it looks damn good from my viewpoint. Squiggles I’ve tried with various outcomes, but I’ve yet to be brave enough to try a freehand softedge camo yet.

Looks top notch to me Marc. Hard edged camo sometimes looks a bit ‘new’. Getting the hang of soft edged is a skill i need to perfect.

Well done, you have.

…Guy

The paint looks good Marc. [tup] If I did freehand at 1:1 scale with an industrial sprayer I’d bet my edges would have a 4" feather! lol

Looking good Marc! Freehand camo is a tough one to master. Looks to me like you already have the hang of it! [tup]

Thanks for all the encouraging words guys.

Mark… sorry to hear about the buffing wheel incident. Not too bad to fix i hope.

That looks great- you oughta be real happy with that!

That’s gonna be a great looking addition to the collection.

Looks like a fine job from here. That a nice tight feather for any freehand job. I dislike shinny mustangs so this one looks great to me.

Looks great, Marc. Looks like another stunner in the making.

Jon, Phoenix, Mucker… thanks
