Here’s my little beast, fresh off the bench. A very fun kit to build. I did discover that the fit was a lot better after cutting off a lot of the mounting lugs.

Looks good, is the Moebius kit the old Monogram kit reboxed?
The Moebius kit is an all new tool. Nearly twice as big as the Monogram kit. Here is a comparison shot for you Rob.
I was wondering about the size. My Raider has Revell on the box, so it should be the small version. Very nice and lights to boot! Bob

Ok, lol! Big but not huge! I mean with a 17 inch wingspan and it’s oval it still takes up a lot of space unless I hang it from the ceiling or something like that.
Dunno where I’d even put a three foot battlestar!

As I started to look at this I was thinking how someone needs to light up one of these kits then BAM! there it was! Awesome job - looks great. Did you incorporate some flicker into the main motors or are they steady burning?
Thanks guys. Swanny the engine lights are steady on. I don’t add flickering LED for engines. I know the animation looks cool but to me flickering means sputtering and advanced spaceships should never sputter!
Maybe he got some water in his dark matter?
I originally built it with red LEDs for the engines but they burned out during assembly as they were not true 3v LEDs! Thankfully I was able to take apart what I had done and replace them with whites. Check your LED kids!
Thanks for that photo. I remember buying the Raider before I had ever heard of Battlestar Galactica. One of the bigger department stores in the Vermont/New Hampshire back in the late 70s. It was cooler looking than the viper, which at the time looked too much like a poor man’s X-Wing. I remember it shooting plastic missiles.
In all the reissues of that Monogram kit they had removed the firing missile function, but left the holes there!
