another finished Abrams

I just got time to take some photos of an Abrams that I have been working on. It is the Tamiya kit and was built OOTB. Like the Bradley that I just finished, I used light washes with dark drybrushing. I tried to tone down the wash more this time. Thanks for all the feedback on the Bradley last time, I tried to use that input to improve the finish this time. Let me know what you guys think (good or bad). Hope you guys enjoy the pics.

a couple more pics can be found in the gallery of my webpage.

Looks good, Edog!
Suitably faded!

nice job… i’ve always been a WW2 person, haven’t yet delved into modern kits, so I always enjoy looking at the pics posted of modern armor… Nicely done!

Very nice. Good job!

Good job Eric. Is that the OIF version with all the extra gear? I like the subtle weathering job, looks nice.

Nice job. I love the copious amounts of stowage [:)]

What is it with the recent slew of M1 kits being built?

Zokissama, Im pretty sure it has something to do with the war in Iraq. Sad as it is war inspires people to build things because all off a sudden these machines are becoming common place on TV. People who normaly build these things used to have to do alot of research on thier subject matter and that can sometimes discourage a builder (sometimes, yes I know there are those of us who actually enjoy the research part - myself included) But now one has but to turn to CNN to see a Bradley, Abrams, or HMMWVE rolling through Iraq and alot of people want to build these awsome weapons of war.
Model Companies know this and even they have jumped on the Band Wagon to make the extra buck releasing kits specific to OIF and OEF.

That looks very very nice. Great Job!

Thanks for the comments guys. Eric, yes this is the Tamiya kit with all the extra gear. zokissima, the reason I built this kit is becuase it was 50% off at Hobby Lobby. Awood23, I am not quite sure why it is sad that I built this kit though… And personolly, I did zippo for research. It was built straight out of the box. I did happen across a picture of this tank though, and Tamiya got the markings wrong on their decals. I didn’t bother to correct them.[:D]

Great Job, Erick. As an OOB builder myself, all I can say is that it looks wonderful. Nice subtle weathering.

Nice job!

Works for me Awood. Keeps companies producing newer and better varients. I am a modern armor builder myself. (1948-Present) Don’t understand all these old-war armor modelers…! rofl jk all jk.
