Another Corsair (built in East Africa

Hey Everyone,

Here is my Tamiya 1/48 F4U-1A Corsair. I built it straight out the box with no goodies and no extras. Being overseas makes the extra effort of detailing a little too much, but I’ve been practicing my painting and weathering. I’m pretty happy with this one. What do ya’ll think

Chris

You should be happy… it looks real nice. Interesting collection… flag, jeep, fighter, tank and elephants.

Looks real good from here Chris. Nice work.

Regards, Rick

Looks good to me. How was the fit? Wait a minute, what am I thinking! It’s a Tamiya, the fit should be perfect.[D)]

Nice work on the Corsair, especially the LE of the prop.

Nice job! Apparently things aren’t too spartan for ya.

Looks good to me thanks for posting.

Great build, thanks for sharing. The elephants is a nice touch…

thanks guys, I’m glad ya’ll like it. The elephants and the flag in the display just kinda happened. We had to take the flag off of the pole, because it was getting a little frayed. We didn’t want to get rid of it. The elephants were bought in the local ville, but we never got around to sending them home. My model shelf in my our little airframes shop turned into the shop’s show off shelf. I don’t mind, the elephants and flag certainly add to the display.

That Coke can may be part Corsair!
Very nice plane!

Good job, Chris. The paint job and decals look really nice and crisp. Very glad to hear that you’ve still got modelling capabilities (and time!) over there to wind down with.

Looks great. That’s out-of-the-box? The Tamiya kit comes with a Brewster bomb rack?

Nice work! Thanks for sharing,

Darren.
