Another 1/144 project on the drawing board

After successfully converting the 1/144 He-111 into a CASA 1112 a while back, another “little” project got thought up.

The plan is to convert a 1/144 Lancaster into a Lincoln. To make it a little bigger I plan on making it as a RAAF Lincoln Mk 31. The Lincoln isn’t the easy project to acquire reference and detail on, but I think I have accumulated enough for a 1/144 scale kit.

I think the Minicraft Lancaster is about 1" short in span, but close enough in length. The mods will add almost three inches in span and two in length. The engines will be made up from round stock, I think I will make one as a master then make four from resin. A first for me.

Any thoughts?

If you’re after some reference material for the Lincoln, particularly RAAF aircraft, I’d suggest the book Lincoln, Canberra and F-111 in Australian Service by Stewart Wilson. There’s quite a few photos, four “line drawing” style side profiles, development history, Serial number listings etc.
