Andrea Color Paint set

Alright, I hope to pick the brains of some of you. I found a place that is selling this Andrea Color Paint set. It comes with a guide to painting figures, A white metal figure, 10 ww2 figure paint colors, paintbrush, pallette tray, superglue and sandpaper. It costs $67.95 Cdn, and I was wondering if: a), are Andrea paints good figure paints, and b) Do you think that it is worth that price

Smithy;
Can’t comment on the value or the price but if I could pick it up at $67.00 Aus I would not think twice about it.

Although I have not used the Andrea paints myself, a member of a club that I belong to had imported them England and he swears by them. This member has also won first place for fiqures over the past few years in the club comp so this a good indication of their quality.

I am currently experimenting with Vallejo paints which are, as I believe are the same (only the branding of the bottle is different) and I am quite happy with the results.

Hi,

I confirm what south aussie said, i.e. that Vallejo and Andrea are the same except for the brand name.
I don’t know about the price, here in Italy one Vallejo bottle costs approx 2,50 Euro.
If you follow two hint you can get very good reults; the hints are shake the bottles veeery well and apply a non acrylic surface primer to your model.
The greatest advantage of the bottles is that they last almost forever, I got some colors three years ago and they are still like the first day.
The greatest disadvantage is that you can’t airbrush them.
All in all my suggestion is buy them!

Bye

Hi, I am in Calgary and was wondering where I can order Andrea Color paints. You seem to have found them in Spruce Grove.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary
