How detailed is this beast? If I somehow managed to scrounge the money for it, would you reccomend it as a buy? And are there any after-market things for it (ie. engine rooms, torpedo rooms etc.) -Thanks.
Wait a second here…you tell me in one thread that you’d never buy a $150 1/32 F-16 because it’s too expensive, but you’re willing to drop $2500 on a 1/32 Andrea U-boat? What kind of summer job do you have anyway!!! [:O]
To answer your question…there is no internal detail to this model. It’s strictly an externally detailed model, albeit a 6 1/2 foot long model.
Jeff
Ahoy tankmaster7,
The andrea u-boat is a work of art and is supplied with tower crew.
All you have to do is build and paint.
But at that price , I would rather buy many Revell AG 1:72 kits and all
the after market details available and build every version of theType VII
ever made.
And with the money that’s left over, convert one to RC.
It’s only $2,500 over there? Saw it at an LHS here (and it’s still there) going for about $5,000…
Not like I’m keen to pick one up for $2,500, but man, what a mark-up!
Erhemm[:I][:o)] Yeah… Jeff this would be a if I saved up all my money for the next 2 years kind of thing. I am considering it, but not in the near future. The thing about the F-16 still stands BTW. [:)]
Talk about modelling madness!!! We sure are truly afflicted!
It just doesn’t make any sense…I have to call my father and ask him if I thought like this when I was 15 (flashback…I wanted to drop a V-8 into a Renault Fuego)…so I guess I can save the long distance call.
(in my best cartoon voice) Sheesh! Kids these days!! ![]()
A Renault Fuego! now there’sa beautiful car!
Forget the cost-the big question is how do you sneak it past the wife??
Hide it in the Renault Fuego!
…<>…<>…“ur joking right?”
Hey Jeff, if your not going to use that 1.4 ltr from the Renault, I know of a 1/32 Uboat that needs an engine.[:-^]
Scott
Hilarious…I needed a good laugh today. Thanks guys…
As for sneaking it past the wife, well, I’ve given up, now I just take my lumps and when I’m finished getting abused I go downstairs and build!
Seriously though, my wife is awesome about my hobby. She knows when I haven’t spent enough time building (I get irritable) and she’s the first one to hand me my Squadron flyer or go looking for hobby shops. She’ll actually banish me to the workshop for a few hours each night! Maybe she doesn’t like me anymore…I never thought of that…oh well! ![]()
Jeff
Harumph. I have a mom to worry about. She’s pretty understanding though. Chances are I won’t get this beast. All the money i have (all 300 bucks of it [:(]) is slated for the nationals. I hope to see some of you people there.
My chances of getting it arent helped by the fact that I just spent 200 dollars on a T-90S conversion and various AM detail things. BUT I STILL WON’T SPEND 150$ ON A 1/32 F-16! [:D][:P]
I would go for the Revell kit-and a Yugo!
Dan
You did. Don’t try to figure out the teenaged mind, Jeff. That way madness lies!
The sub is supposed to be very detailed, but I’ve read some people quibble about the accuracy of the depiction of the weld lines or bolts or some such. To be honest, I’d rather spend 2% of that cash and get the Revell 1/72nd scale kit, which after all is still about half the size of the Andrea kit.
So…tankdude…you’re coming to the Nationals??? Stop by the FSM table and say hello… ![]()
Jeff
Definitely man! It will be good to meet ya there. I’ll be entering the juniors categories, so ahh feel free to take severl pics of my models! [:D]
