An Sdkfz 7/1 Progress-[for repair]

G’day Folk’s,

This poor subject has been bought to me by it’s owner to repair and repaint, I have no idea how old this is, but for repairing it I have 2 unbuilt kit’s in the stash, that I can copy the missing parts from, brass wire is the intended substitute, for the fine points and missing arms, As for the repaint, I’ll use the 3 tone cammo, but for the snow I intend to use Baking Powder. When this has been fully rebuilt I’ll repost it with pix of the finished model.

Rob.

Respectable gig you have repairing kits… Good for you! Let us know how it turns out.

Looking forward to seeing the progress!

Repairing? Just out of curiosity, when you start off on something like this, do you strip the paint off the whole model?

Lobbie, my junkyard dog brother brought me one of these he fished out of the trash on one of his treasure hunting expeditions back a few years ago. it was pretty beat up but, being the professional trash picker he was, he got most of the parts for me, so I took on the challenge, and I must say, it’s one of my more favored kits. It’s amazing what we can build out of trash! or as my brother says, treasure. good luck, it has great possibilities. semper fi, mike

My all time favourite vehicle this one, Rob. I have one in the pile that I am planning to do the works on, but only when I have refined my skills enough to do it justice. Look forward to seeing your progress, so as to learn some tips for mine. Good luck.
