I just completed a sale to a gent on Ebay…my postage estimates were way over, so I sent a reimbursement. I was thanked with appreciation for honesty. I have been in this hobby for decades and I do have to say that for the most part, model builders are an honest lot. I’m not talking about the businesses or the few trying to gouge others…I mean the true model builder. [Y]
I just made my first Ebay purchase a couple of weeks ago. My postage was lower than the estimated cost by almost $2. The seller promptly corrected this and shipped my new kit. Thanks, Freedom Discount Books & Hobbies, Norman.Ok.
I’ve had the same type of dealings with folks in the firearms trade. I use to shoot custom made bullets. I’ve purchased orders of 2000 bullets and had the seller tell me to just send him a check once I received the shipment, because he wasn’t sure what the shipping would be. This happened to me with about 3 different bulletsmiths. These were orders that ran between $200 to $300 dollars apiece, with each bullet being hand swaged / made. Good folks are a joy to do business with.
