An excellent photograph website

During my internet hunt for reference photos, I found this website that has thousands of pictures of military aircraft – taken mostly at airshows. Most are fighters, with a few transports, bombers, and helos in the mix as well. Lots of good shots of ordnance, hardpoints, and landing gear too.
Thought I’d post the link so others can add it to their favorites list.

If the French ain’t good for much else, at least they have the Paris Airshow! [:P]

Wow great site. Thanx for sharing.

Some excellent pics. Thanks for the Post.

Regards, Rick

And overall, thank you for sharing your opinion on French with us
I suggest you read some OECD statistics, you could learn a couple of things, as I did.

Thanks for sharing. Know of any web sites like that for WWII birds?
Cheers,
Eric

I had to edit my comments as my conscience spoke to me loudly. This is a modelling web site and not for politiical discussion. My apologies to anyone I offended.

Thanks for that great link… it will become part of my references. [:)]

Take care,
Frank

Thanks for the link! Just wish I had my own 'puter here to bookmark it! - Calvin

'Tis a good site and probably the only place online where you’ll find a walkaround (of sorts) of the T-46 Eaglet.

I know, I know… you’re all saying “What the hell is a T-46 Uglet Eaglet and why would we give a rat’s… uh… why would we care?” Well, I can’t answer that question and I guess I really couldn’t give a… care too much about the airplane either, but it is hard to find photos of that bird… I’ll shut up now…

Fade to Black…

I guess AH1Wsnake should read (even if such activity is pretty difficult for him) a lot of things about France and Frenchs before include comments as the ones he posted.
Even my English is not excellent, I like respect people.
BTW, awesome site!!!

OK OK, I realize snake’s comment may not have been apropriate, but there’s no need for that knd of thing. In case you haven’t noticed, everyone else kept it civilzed…

[B)]oooooh, ouch.
Well, you know what? I did go and do some reading and here is what I found, enjoy:

Ode to France

Eleven thousand soldiers lay beneath the dirt and stone,
all buried on a distant land so far away from home.

For just a strip of dismal beach they paid a hero’s price,
to save a foreign nation they all made the sacrifice.

And now the shores of Normandy are lined with blocks of white:
Americans who didn’t turn from someone else’s plight.

Eleven thousand reasons for the French to take our side,
but in the moment of our need, they chose to run and hide.

Chirac said every war means loss, perhaps for France that’s true,
for they’ve lost every battle since the days of Waterloo.

Without a soldier worth a damn to be found within the region,
the French became the only land to need a Foreign Legion.

You French all say we’re arrogant. Well hell, we’ve earned the right–
We saved your sorry nation when you lacked the guts to fight.

But now you’ve made a big mistake, and one that you’ll regret;
you took sides with our enemies, and that we won’t forget.

It wasn’t just our citizens you spit on when you turned,
but every one of yours who fell the day the towers burned.

You spit upon our soldiers, on our pilots and Marines,
and now you’ll get a little sense of just what payback means.

So keep your Paris fashions and your wine and your champagne,
and find some other market that will buy your aeroplanes.

And try to find somebody else to wear your French cologne,
for you’re about to find out what it means to stand alone.

You see, you need us far more than we ever needed you.
America has better friends who know how to be true.

I’d rather stand with warriors who have the will and might,
than huddle in the dark with those whose only flag is white.

I’ll take the Brits, the Aussies, the Israelis and the rest,
for when it comes to valor we have seen that they’re the best.

We’ll count on one another as we face a moment dire,
while you sit on the sideline with a sign, “friendship for hire.”

We’ll win this war without you and we’ll total up the cost,
and take it from your foreign aid, and then you’ll feel the loss.

And when your nation starts to fall, well Frenchie, you can spare us,
just call the Germans for a hand, they know the way to Paris.

Hehe… I’ve met many a French person I like but I still say… BRAVO…

Fade to Black…

A lot of American blood has been spilled in France… In all seriousness, would someone show me a reference that the French respect and appreciate that? I want to read information on how the French people respect the price that has been paid for their freedom. I’ll be waiting…
Eddie

Thats a pretty good site. I rank it with www.1000aircraftpictures.com . BTW, AH1Wnake, I agree with you.

I guess most of us on this web site are Americans and proud that we are so blessed. I have no great love for the French and will leave it at that, I did edit some comments I made in an earlier post as my conscience spoke to me that they were not right for this venue because they were political and not because I did not mean them. But guys, this is a modeling website and not a political one - if you want to make a statement about the French do what I do and refuse to build any model of one of their planes, tanks, ships or whatever.
Proud to be an American.
Cheers,
Eric

Thanks for the site reference!

I usually keep to the modeling, but since historical interpretation/education is my job …here goes.

It’s interesting how we all base our opinions about the international community upon what has transpired during the 20th and earlty 21st centuries. I try to be objective about what’s going on now and remember what happened in October of 1781 at the decisive battle of Yorktown VA. Arguably, without French Naval and Army assistance during the siege at Yorktown, and the final two years of the Rev. War, our faltering Revolution would have faltered. Without the French Fleet and troops, a reinforced Cornwalis would have broken out of York Town and forced Continental forces to beat a hasty retreat. BTW - number of French sailors and infantry killed defending our cause during the 18th century surpasses 11,000. Our world did not start on June 6, 1944 (though becuase our tremendous sacrifice, the lives of many Europeans was changed for the better). A “Francophile” could easily argue that they are even.

This is in good humor and objective dialog, and yes, I spent four years serving my country and I still do batllefield walks and staff-rides for active duty folks.[:D]

Yaaargh, I realize the French may not have put up a heroic resistance during WWII but neither did any of the other nations the Nazis overran in 2 bloody weeks. And now just because they don’t support a war which is most definitely unjustified and wrong may or may not be justified, everyone this side of the pond is givin’ em hell!!! (Except the Canadians, I don’t see them supporting the war, do you?) You may as well disrespect every country in the whole world, because last I checked the UN did not sanction this war.
And as to not building any of their equipment, what the bloody hell is the point of that?!! You’re denying yourself an entire venue of fascinatin machinery just because of some misgui political view. It’s not sending a message to somebody. No French Nationalist is going to walk into your home and say, “My god, I see no French equipment, I am insulted!”

But no, this website is for modeling, not politics. Nice website snake. Thanks for posting.

Oh, and BTW whether or not I agree with the poem’s point of view, it si pretty darn good.

And before somebody starts flaming me, yes I am American and proud to be so.

Oh and another thing, we’d still belong to the Brits if it weren’t for the French. Check the facts , but there were more French than American troops at the surrender ceremony when the British surrendered.

Tank, read my post more carefully - that was exactly my point!

grenadier, in case you were offended my post was not directed towards you at all. I apologize if I offended you personally but I will not change my post.
