Beautiful job!

The P-40F “short tail” is representive of the the first batch of 699 built. The “long tail” was not introduced until the P-40F-5-CU. So it all depends on what particular aircraft you are modeling if you need to do the surgery to make it a “long tail”. Info from Scale and Detail P40 Warkhawk Part 2, Vol 62.

Thanks Melgyver! I guess I missed that in S&D, as that was one of my references during this build. As for my build, it was a “long tail” Hawk per all the photos that I had of it.

I did search for that first image but just now stumbled on the front view, for what it’s worth. The P-40 looks to be in good company parked by a P-38!

Nice picture! My first time at EAA AirVenture was 2010, made it three more times thanks to a good friend who lives in Oshkosh! Love the War Birds!
