G’Day,
I’m building the AMT/ERTL 1/72 XB-70, however this kit is screaming for some detailing. Anyone know where I can lay my hands on the XB-70 cutaway diagrams, if there are any update kits or if someone has already performed a build review including super detailing ?
Thanks
Cheers
Mark
My best book on the B-70 is #30 in the old Aero Series, by Steve Pace. It has cutaways, detail drawings, color photos of cockpit and landing gear, and the Paul Matt three view. I suspect you will have to find a used copy. The ISBN no. is 0-8168-0610-1, mine was published in 1984.
Specialty Press has a book called “Valkyrie: North Americans Mach 3 SuperBomber” that was just published in the last couple of years that has a lot of useful info in it. I don’t have the book handy at the moment, but PM me if you want more details.
Thank you for your replies.
I’ve managed to track down a copy of the Illustrated Encyclopedia of Aircraft which has a cutaway diagram.
Although I have managed to track down both books here in Australia, hopefully they will arrive soon.
Thanks
Cheers

No cutaways, but another place that has some nice images is NASA’s photo archive, from when they flew the sole remaining XB-70. Here is a link to it: http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/gallery/photo/XB-70/
The remaining XB-70 is at WPAFB in Dayton, Ohio.
