I’m trying to build a nice display for my father of a 155mm M1-A2 Howitzer.
Trouble is finding a good quality kit. Would appreciate any suppliers info and
display tips. He was attached to the 1ST BATTALION, 141ST ARTILLERY,
BATTERY A out of Jackson Barracks in New Orleans,LA.
Italeria makes one… never built it, but i built the 105 and it was pretty good.
Thanks tankergeoff will have to check them out .
no problem, good luck!
The Italeri kit was recently reissued, I believe. If not, it is often on Ebay. It is really a good kit. Looks really good when done. Only two downsides, if you pose the breach door open, there is no inner breach block, just a flat piece of plastic. Secondley, the tires are really weak. They just don’t look correct in shape and the traed pattern is wrong. I replaced mine with an extra set of Tamiya Dragon Wagon Tires, they look great on it. Here is mine before the tire change.
Here is a great site with a super-detailed build article too:

Good luck.
I agree with Gino completely, I built this kit many years ago and it was a very nice build, but the tires are very weak. One of our local VFW’s has a real one on display in front of their hall and the kit is very close.
Hey guys really appreciate all the input. Hope you all have a great year.
