I have the Acadamy kit in 72nd ,Dodge WC-54 I think, and need some help.
I always thought the interior was white but I have pics of the one on display at the Hill Aerospace Museum and it has an OD interior. So… were they painted both ways?

Guess it could go either way. Here is a build article from US Army models where he did it OD on the interior as well. I have seen it both ways.

[:)] bummer,Gino i thought those werth yours[:I] anyway nice builds[:)]
I know it most likely isn’t accurate, but on the MAS*H TV show, they have shown the interiors of the Dodge WC-54 Ambulances painted OD green and more often white or light grey. Again, since it was a fictitious TV show, I can’t vouch for the accuracy, although I have read/heard that they tried to be as accurate as possible whenever they could. Besides, it was reported that they used several vehicles from some private collections and museums during filming.
I also built the Academy 1/72 scale WC-54 ambulance but kept the doors closed so you couldn’t see my grey interior. I have three more to build.
I was a Hospital Corpsman (Combat Medic) in the Navy and in both modern ones I rode in, and older pieces at various medical museums in Washington D.C. they were OD on the interior. The only ones I saw with white or light green interiors were airforce transports when I was flying medevac… can’t comment on the specific vehicle obviously, but my general feeling goes toward the OD…
Thought this WWII directive was interesting regarding the medical vehicles:

Thanks for the data guys. I think I will be going with OD.
Found this one on the web. Know it is a restored vehicle but looks pretty good.

I worked for a custom design ambulance manufacturer for 2 years in Washington state. The owner had a surplus he picked up from Desert Storm. He bought and sold used ambulances on the side. It was painted standard desert colors outside, and seafoam green inside the box. Don’t know what branch it served in, all markings were removed.
Good choice, that should give the most options for unit selection. It seems likely that white interiors would not be applied to any vehicle with possible exposure to enemy fire (ground or air).
