Amazing Mig 21 F-13

[:D][:D]
I’ve been modeling in 1/72 for almost 40 years and I have seen many improvements in kits over the years. But my recent purchase of Revell GR Mig 21 F-13 has got me to make this post. The kit is amazing well detailed and so far it’s just falling together. Have others here started this kit yet? If Revell keeps this up the leaders in fine kit production like Eduard, The New Academy kits and Tamiya will have to look over their shoulder. Not to sound like a commerical but thanks Revell now haw about a all new F-80???

How are the details, like cockpit, landing gear, auxilliary air vents, etc?

I have looked at the kit but haven’t built it. It’s getting very good reviews. I’ll second the request for a new F-80 in both 1/48 & 1/72 [tup].

Regards, Rick

I’ve seen it in the box and its a beauty.

The cockpit and gear bays put some of what you see in 1/48 to shame.

You could build this baby right from the box and aftermarket would not be required unless you wanted particular markings that weren’t on the sheet.

If you are familiar at all with Revell Germany’s 1/48 Dassault Rafale from a few years back and what a masterpiece it was (no sarcasm in that comment) their new MiG-21 F-13 is up to that same standard.

I really waiting for their new 1/72 Hawker Hunter to hit the shelves around here.

Now if they would make a new tooling of a BAC Lightning in 1/72 with this kind of eye for detail instead of reissuing the old Frog and Matchbox kits of them, I’d be in Heaven![:p]

This is great news. I’ve seen some reviews and photos on the net, and the kit looks fantastic.

Butch,

You’ll have to show us some photos when you get the chance.

Regards,

Their 1/72 hunter is out!!! why didn’t someone tell me?!! Must run to hobby store…

Calm down, Tankmaster.

I’m pretty sure its out, someone at my LHS says they’re expecting their first Hunters in a month or two, so it may just be taking time for it to get around.

Its definitely the next on my “to buy” list

I’m at about 33% on the build of this kit. Great so far. I haven’t been able to figure out why they made the “lumps” on each side of the rear fuselage as separate “drop-in” pieces. Detailing is really fine. The F-13 version of the MiG-21 has long been ignored, or so badly done that the kits weren’t worth it. If this kit is a harbinger of things to come in 1/72 from RG, I’m really look forward to their Hunter kit.
