Am I Posting Too Much??

Hey!

Why didn’t ya’ll tell me to shut Up!! Nicely at least. I was perusing the site and see a lot of posts are from Me. I ain’t gonna do that no more! Promise.

No,it doesn’t make a difference, keep posting all you want.I know when I’m busy I just don’t read them, anyone else can do the same thing.

Traffic has been slow anyway,so keep them coming.

No, we’re just posting too little!

Well, I’d be a hypocrit to suggest that. Post away.

Don’t stop posting. You are doing fine.

Don’t care. I’ll read or ignore what I want.

Hi,

You are not posting too much at all (though I do have to admit, sometimes I have to read what you wrote a couple times before I can convince myself that I fully understand the post [*-)] - I think that’s more an issue with me trying to scan what you have written too quickly though [:)])

You usually have alot of content in your replies so I’ve definitely not been one of those to notice anything bad about your posts TB. You usually talk as though you were standing right in front of a fellow hobbyist, meaning that if one of us were physically present with one another we’d have a TON of stuff to talk about. There really needs to be a whole lot more of that across the forums. Post on brother.

Keep posting ,your stuff is interesting!

I agree, post away.

I like what Joe said here…

I mostly don’t in-person-talk in short, snappy sentences either. In my engineering curriculum, we had a course on effective business written communication. The objective was to get to the point, present the facts and data, and leave anything extra out. Believe it or not, I can do it. And in business cummunication it makes sense. But I’m not here to discuss business, I’m here to learn, share info, have some fun and as we used to say when we were kids…“mess around”.

I know I can ramble too, and that it probably annoys some folks sometimes. I don’t do it on purpose, and I certainly dont want to annoy anyone, and I’m sure you don’t either. I just don’t find short, snappy sentences to be (normally) effective communication. Not when discussing hobbies, anyway.

Comments beyond 5 word sentences seem to annoy some folks, and I get that. Heck, depending on how the day is going sometimes they annoy me too. Sometimes my own posts annoy me on reread. For real. (maybe sort of what you just experienced in reviewing the forum and seeing your own posts)

As with just about everything in life, the answer probably lies somewhere in the middle of too yacky and too short. I try to shorten my posts, sometimes with success, sometimes not so much.

Anyway, I don’t recall you forcing anyone to read your posts, so my [2cnts] would be not to worry about it. If this were a professional, techical, or business forum, you would likely have a valid worry. But it’s not.

I agree with almost everyone here. Post what you would like to post. We all ramble on sometimes and that is what makes us who we are. So post all you want. Sometimes you come up with questions some people dont think of at the moment and you do. Some are quite informative and humorous and I like to see that. Just my opinion.

Hi Greg;

What I worry about is if I am Instructing, is That I may come across as very Harsh. When It came to Students of mine I taught as a private Tutor I did NOT suffer fools lightly. If You have at least four years of High School amd got good marks in 90% of the courses then you are NOT a Dummy in my Book.

Art Classes taught things like perspective and other usefull skills that can and do happen everyday in life, We just have to see them. This includes our own abilities as creative, fun loving folks. I run Long sometimes because my Landlady keeps telling me,“Hey, You are not a teacher now, tone it down”! So I try to make it conversational like you were (sitting in an easy chair sharing some time and coffee or Tea, With me) out of your busy day!

Keep 'em coming TB. Your posts never fail to put a smile on my face.

Thank You, Sir!

HA, i loved the landlady comment! Reminds me of the lecture i get from my wife on rare occasions (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it)…"stop talking to me like I’m one of your employees " she says. Read some emotion into that quote as well haha.

Hey Mongoose!

That is the truth and, I am sticking to it. My fellow Museum members and the Board say they appreciate it because then My intentions and ideas are easy to understand without the politics of the position!
