I have been using an ALPS MD-1000 for several years now and love it. (see some results below).

However, I have an old computer set-up just to use the 1000 as I have not found a driver that will work with my Windows XP yet. That in combination with age is making me look at a new ALPS or similar.

My questions:
What do most folks use?
Is the 5000 much better?
Will cartridges be available for a long time for all models of the ALPS?
Has Sony released their version of the ALPS yet? (or will they?)

Dear Sir,
ALPS has updated drivers for XP and OS X just email them and they will send it to you, they will be making ink cartridges for the MD series for year to come but for decal printing the MD-1000 and the MD-5000 is the same except for printing foil with the MD-5000.
I have serveral MD sreies printers that I use for printing decals and they work the same for that application.
