just wanted to share some pics of my latest build…Hasegawa 1/48 Val. Added some cockpit PE.
Now im completing the masking and canopy painting so I can move on to bigger and better things!!!

Carlos, that is one sweet build! I have the same kit - I hope, when I finally get to building it, that it looks nearly as good as your does!
I’d like to know how you managed the tail stripe pattern - techniques as well as what paints you used. It’s very impressive! I like the way you weathered the landing gear spats, too. Very creative and effective.
Oh - and more pics, please!!!

Beautiful Val, I have the same kit in my stash and when I get around to building it I hope it looks half as good as yours. Were there any problems with the build?

Great job on the tail…is that decal or paint?
Thanks for the positive feedback…actually the tail stirpes are decals that come with the kit. I was a bit concerned the wouldnt set right but with a good amount of Microset and patience they aligned very nice, then a shot of dullcote really gave them that painted on look.
heres another shot of the tail…the only thing i wasnt happy with was the red paint…I used testors mm enamels and i didnt like the finish…I guess I’m just too much of an acrylics user…the Testors enamels go on too thick…even when airbrushing.

Like others I also have one in my stash waiting to be built but I picked mine up as an open box sale item without decals or instructions. MicroScale solved the decals but does anyone have a set of instructions that might be left over from a prior build? Contact me by PM if so.

Very nice work onthe paint chip weathering. Those tail decales did lay down nicely. I like the look of it.
Very nice. I have that kit in the stash waiting to be built also. I love the paint scheme [:)] Did you paint the stripes or did you use the decals? For the fuselage. I saw where you decaled the tail.
That looks great. I have found I vastly prefer shooting enamels when they’re thinned down considerably, like 50/50 for a regular coat, sometimes as much as 5:1 for lighter coats. The solvent seems to flash off very fast coming out of the gun.
The weathering job on the panel lines. That stands out well.
Looks really great so far. I really like the weathering.
