Almost finished

A few months ago, I decided to come back to the hobby. I went out and bought 3 kits - 1/48th scale Tamiya

P-51 Mustang Red Tails, 1/48th scale Revell’s P-47 Thunderbolt Razorback and 1/72nd scale F4U-1 Corsair by Academy. As of now I am almost done with the Corsair. Not my best work considering that I’m still rusty when it comes to detail. These 48 year old eyes aren’t sharp as they used to be. LOL! I’ve got to invest in a magnifying light fixture. I used to use it just to get down to detailing the fine details when I was younger. How I wished I had taken that fixture and hold on to it for one of these ‘just in case I come back to the hobby’ moments.

I will post it as soon as I can once it’s done. I’ll most likely will give it to a co-worker of mine as a surprise for he has done me tons of little favors. I think he will enjoy the little warbird on display in his office.

Next up the Bolt and the 'Stang. LOL!

Oh yeah, I’ve got a couple kits on order coming soon. Then again - I’ve stiil got about 7 other unbuilt/unfinished kits lying around the house. Just can’t remember where I hid the 1/72 scale B-52 Stratofortress, the 1/48th scale A-10, and a model I purchased at an antique show some years back.

A magnifying lamp is a good idea, but I’ve recently invested in (admittedly, a cheap one) a head lamp magnifier. I’ve tried using the desk lamp type, not so easy, the head lamp magnifier is the way to go.

It’s great that you are getting involved again. As far as the loss of the close up vision is concerned, I am wearing my #5 Optivisor almost all the time whenever I’m working on Hobby ( translate FUN ) stuff. Good luck on your planned builds. Bob
