Wash is complete now.
Just need to do some touch ups, attach the treads and give her a flat coat.
It may not be anywhere close to show quality, but I am pleased as punch.
Its my first tank in many years since getting back into the hobby.
It looks 1000 times better in person than in the photos.[:D]
Still any critiques are always welcome.
The Pz II in the background is something I did years ago. Hopefully the improvements are evident. (or not)
Very nice work. THe wash really did make a big difference. Maybe one more layer of drybrushing would really make the detail pop out.
Just out of curiosity, that little Pz II, I don’t know if it’s your camera or what, but it looks black!?!
I agree, It does look black! The pz III looks great in my oppinion, wash and all. Is the black pz II painted in a made-up sceme? If not, where did you find that sceme?
looks cool. the wash will probably get toned down with a flat-coat. if you really wanted it toned down you could do a really thin wash of a lighter color like burnt umber. i’m building a panzer 3 right now as well. aust M with the sideskirts and all.
I appreciate the comments and criticisms folks.
I really and truly do.
I agree that the camera flash makes for poor photos, and as I write this the PZIII is off to the painting hood for a dullcote.
Regarding the PZII As I mentioned its a older kit by sevral years and probably not accurate. Its painted in a dark Metal-Flake grey that apprently turns black under the camera. I shot another photo to try and get better results, but it turned black as well.[:I]
It actually looks semi nice in person. like a metallic tank scrubbed up for inspection, or fresh off the line.
