All AMPS Attendees -- here's your chance to REALLY help

Hi guys: I hope you’re as excited with the prospect of pulling up the WW2 Victory museum at the end of this week. The Show Committee has been working hard to make sure the behind the scenes details are falling into place. We hope to develop a fantastic show for all of you and your families.

It’s really been a pleasure to work alongside a great group of guys and we’re energized by the growth of the entire organization these last few years. As sure as I am of the satisfaction the Show Committee will feel come show’s close, I’d like to highlight to you something that is even more important.

Many of us will enjoy the camaraderie, the speakers, the museum, the model contest, the raffle, the industry reps and the vendors room. However, I’d like to ask EVERY attendee to do something for others who are far from home.

The AMPS Donation program has sent almost 1000 kits along with boxes of supplies and reference to the Baghdad Hobby Club. This group serves men & women from the coalition forces stationed in Baghdad. We plan on having a huge collection center there at the show.

As you pack for the trip to Auburn IN this week, please please consider donating some of those kits, supplies or references in your stash that you know will likely not see your workbench within the next decade. The donations are certainly not limited to the AFV genre. Anything modelling related is welcome (planes, cars, sci-fi, figs, etc.). New supplies and references are great. That 1/72 Airfix Spitfire kit? Bring it. That Dukes of Hazzard car? That too. That Tasca M4A1? Give it to Roy. Oops. Slipped with that one. LOL

Anyways, you get my drift.

Lots of us are going to have a ball this weekend. Let’s take time to think of others who are far from home as we prepare for this great show.

See you in a few days! Don’t forget to say HI to Aaron and Kelly from FSM. They’ll be there snapping pics. FSM has supported the show for many, many years.
