Here she is, my Fujimi 1/48 Bf-110 of a different color. Three or possibly four of these 110Cs were done in provisional Italian camouflage schemes. All the decals came from my spares box; the crew figures were replaced with better figures from my spares box. I lost the landing light lens and had to make a new one utilizing my new Waldron punch set (love that tool).
Generally I simply use a sludge wash to accent my panel lines but they were so fine on this kit I was worried they would disappear under the paint. To make them pop out a little more I did some post shading with Tamiya X-19. This is actually a first for me and it worked very well and was easy to do. I was very surprised.
I used my favorite dull coat, Polly Scale clear flat to seal everything up at the end of the build. The model was built gear up intended to hang with the rest of the ceiling air force.
Most parts fit together very well with only minimal putty needed at the tail plane connection and along the belly seam. The hardest part of construction was the drop tanks - very fiddly and hard to line up properly. And so it’s on to the next project, another floatplane kit and maybe some more work on my second Koster Fw-200 Condor. Model on my friends. [8D]
Man-o-man I love your color schemes. It’s refreshing to see these colorfull camo patterns. I need to pick some new subjects, other than the old standby"s, and when I do I hope they come close to yours. Outstanding work, Swanny!!!

Thanks Dragonfly. I really get tired of doing the same old, same old and have so many kits to build. Some days it’s harder to find an alternative scheme than to build a kit.
Nice work Swanny.
Regards, Rick
BTW, speaking of something different, I just happen to have a Mk.Vb ready for paint. I was wondering if you had any ideas on something unusual. I was going to order AM decals anyway, and thought maybe I could pick your brain for something other than the same old Spit. Any ideas?..recomendations?

Fantastic, love the camo and markings…
Nice one Swanny! Love to see em’ wearing something different.

I have found more uses for X-19 than I care to count… mixing it with Tamiya dullcoat and you can achieve a lot with an airbrush.
Great plane Swanny.
Dragonfly, two things come to mind right off the bat … maybe a blue recon version or one of the few Spits with teeth. Yet another option that just came to mind are two from Cutting Edge Pyn-Ups … IXc #MK210 or LF.Vb #EN921 - both nudes!!!
[:-^][:-^] You get a double whistle for that one! Really nice work. I do not see too many RA paint schemes.

Swanny,
NUDES…of course…that’s it. I’ve been wanting to try some pyn-up decals anyway! Thanks alot. Will post photos when i’m done.

So Swanny how does that kit stack up against the Monogram Pro Modeler kit, fit, detail, and overal difficulty to build?
By the way what an eye popper that is, love the cammo on it. Thanks for posting pics of it.
The skies the limit,
V.A.
looks GREAT Matt!![tup] i must admit, i wasn’t too impressed with the scheme when it was just paint, but you dressed her up nicely with the weathering and such!! sweeet!!! later.
Great build as usual… love that scheme… it’s always great to see the unusual. You really have an affinity for the perfect degree of weathering.
VA, I’ve built both now and had the PM kit sitting next to this one during the final stages. The PM kit is nicer and has a well detailed interior. I think that was the weakest point of the Fujimi kit - the major lack of interior detail. The landing gear needed some help also but both issues were avoided by building it in flight. I had to use just a little putty on the Fujimi and none at all on the PM kit. Both have good outline and exterior detail. If I was going to do another Fujimi (thinking about it) I wold add an aftermarket cockpit and do some renovations in the gear bays. While the exterior pieces were very good and the interior somewhat sparse the figures were pure crapola. The figures with the PM kit are very nice. The PM decal sheet is very comprehensive while the Fujimi sheet is pretty basic - I’m speaking of the service stencils and warning markings here. Instructions - the Fujimi sheet trys to pack everything into just a few panels where the PM sheet is well detailed and better aimed at modelers closer to the entry level.
Awesome build Swanny [bow] [:)]
Thanks for the pics inspires this one to build more. [:D]
Cheers

Beuatiful Matt, really really eye catching
