I’m going be performing my first wash and I want to try the water/alcohol/acrylic wash. Since my armor is white I am going to attept to use slate grey. I’ll probably be weathering it with model master sand. Any way what is the ratio for water/alcohol/acrylic?
I use like a 95 % alc to 5 % pigment
No water? Do you brushe it over the entire model or just the seams and bolts?
I’m still experimenting with soaking the model and useing an air gun to apply around 6-9 layers of wash.
Soaking it leaves deposits of color where you’d least expect ( a good way ) and the air gun leaves a subtle layering of grim look to it.
here’s an example of my soaking:
It has a pastel wipe down after the wash for the road dust look.
So you place the whole model in a container of alcohol/pigment? How long does it soak for? What pigment do you use?
[Sorry for alll the questions but this is my first wash and i have no idea what I’m doing! Yet! LOL]
I use a big brush and apply as much of the solution as it’ll hole till the model is soaked then it’ll dry. After that I might touch it up a bit with some pastels. But as far as drying time let it sit over night so it’ll set and won’t mar the paint.
