Alclad II

Hello Crew,

I’m new here, but must say that this forum is very informative. I’m a regular at the Model Railroader forum. [:D][;)]

Normally I spray with acrylics, except when metalizing. Last year I started using Alclad II Metalizers. I’ve been very impressed with the results. I did a pair of railroad passenger cars and the results were impressive. Rather than the Stainless Steel color, I used Alclad II Chrome. After applying a satin clear, the results were incredible! I had tried Testors metalizers before, but this product blew my mind away. (O.K, so it might not be much of a mind! [(-D] )

I decided to try it because I did want to buff out metalizer finishes.

I was curious if hobbyists here use Alclad as I’ve seen so few posts on this product or photos of results on this or the MRR Forum.

Cheers.

I have been coming here for about a year now, and yes, the Aircraft Guys Love AlcladII! My next plane, a P-38J, I intend to use Alclad for the first time. Wish me luck![#welcome]

[#welcome] and hope you enjoy your stay, Antonio.
There is a gentleman on here by the name of Pixilater. He is or was, not really sure how the project is progressing, in the process of doing a Revellogram B-29 using Alclad paints. He had about 7 or 8 different shades he was going to use.
There are others that talk of the Alclad line quite a bit. Just check out the painting forum.
Again, welcome. I think you are gonna like it here.

Welcome to the forum. I’ve done a few Alclad projects and have written a “how to” on the basic of the product.
