Ok, folks, got a can of this stuff and when I opened it, it has a metal seal that I can’t pry open no matter what I try.
Am I supposed to puncture it or what?
I tried to contact alclad, but their site is “not in service”.
Anyone? Please?

Digimage - I know what you mean. I’ve seen this on other cans of solvents and they’re a real pain. The seal should have a very tiny, thin, lip around the edge. Try to pry under this and raise it enough to get a bite with a pair of pliers, then put on your safety glasses, hold the can down really well, and pull off the seal. If this doesn’t work, just punch through the seal with a small screwdriver and pry it off. Which ever way, though, make sure you cover your eyes. When it comes off it can flip some of the contents right toward your face.
Good luck and let us know if that works.

the alclad black primer that i purchased came in a bottle. but the alclad airbrush cleaner was inside a tin can.
it seemed impossible to open, but i just used this “beer bottle opener,” that has 2 different sided edges. and on one end, it has a pointed metalic edge. and i just pressed it down on the alclad can, and it poked through.
i don’t know what these things are called. but i think people just use it to open large canned juices.

Where did you find a churchkey? I didn’t think they made them anymore. Anybody out there remember what I am talking about? Used to have an extensive collection of them at one time but only have a few left - remembrance of special occasions if you will[^][^][^]
Thanks fellas. I pried that baby off with some pliers.
Now to spray my huckebein!
