Alayne the elven archer

hey everyone, just finished up Solarwinds new Alayne kit. She is a 1/7 scale resin figure. I painted her completely with acrylics. I made the groin cloths removable, theres just some nice detail behind there [:D]
This one was a commission piece, but its gonna be hard to send her away. I think Im gonna have to buy one for myself. The kit is perfect, just a tiny bit of cleanup , attach an arm, and your ready to paint!

hey, thanks guys for the great compliments.
DJ:, I guess its hard to say my “technique” its quite a few steps. Because I try and vary the skintones from figure to figure to give them their own personality, which is the most difficult, and something Im still trying to figure out with each one. But basically, I apply the base skin color and do shadowing with pastels of different brown shades. I follow with highlights using a lighetr shade of the base color. This is for larger kits though. Ive tried using thsi same technique on samll scale figures, and it just doesnt work :frowning: Im still struggling with that one. Right now I just give them a skin base and apply washes of darker shades with a little drybrushing of a lighter shade afterwards.Im always experimenting with different styles and techniques wih almost every figure, so basically I could fill a book with each one lol ! One day I may actually be able to explain them to someone else, or even remember what I actually did! Im always mixing up batches of colors and forgetting how much of what colors I used.
