Alanger T-35

I’ve been wanting to build a T-35 for some time, found an Alanger kit in a LHS. Has anyone built this one? Any problems to watch out for?

dood,

All kits produced under the Alanger name are reboxes of the ICM kit. Also, if you look on www.alanger.us, there are two or three reviews by people who built this kit.

I’ve wanted to build one myself, but there are a few issues apparently-the decals break, and some of the details are fragile, and in some cases the huge deck piece can be warped. All these are discussed in the reviews, and it should build into an awesome display.

Unfortunately you just missed the new years sale that alanger had, i believe the T35 was at 13$, but then some people have had problems with shipping service

O.T. Hey beav, haven’t seen you in some time. Welcome back.

Thanks, Tigerman, I had work in the middle of no-where, and then school-but I’m back for the holiday, and I’ve got several projects well along, and plans for a few more. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the info, beav. when I opernend the box on this thing I was blown away by the size of the hull length… Holy cow! Makes a King Tiger look like a Stuart! From a 1932 design! Even though it’s a wierd concept, it should look great built up if I don’t screw it up. The deck piev\ce looks of\k right now, we’ll see. As far as decals, maybe I can find an alternative… any suggestions?

Try them out first, if they don’t work, you could always try painting them by hand. I’m not sure if a 1941 T35 would have all the markings on it anyways-if its as big as a house, it was probably russian.

It’s more like a medium sized shopping mall than a house

Looks like the side skirts are a little warped, but they should be fine when they are tacked down.

Hi Dood, i built one and it was as bent as a nine bob note (English Coloquialism) I dont know what it means either! The deck was warped both ways. The tracks really sucked so i replaced them with Fruils. If you thought doing a tigers fruils was tiresome. Wait till you do this blighter. It takes weeks!!!

Heres the link to my post. Hope some helps and eggs you on to doing one yourself.

I’ve had the Alanger (ex-ICM) kit in my stash for some time now. I have not seen any warped parts at all. I know the decals are a bit of a problem, but you can do your own markings, or source them from other Ruskie kits. I have just had some problems locating aftermarket parts for this beast.

Thanks… or should I say, “Tanks”?

BeaV, I looked at your pics and post today. You’ve inspired me! I hope mine turns out 25% as realistic as yours… Awesome job.
