I would suggest looking for the Gakken book on Akagi, and line drawings from Fuji-Art have detailed drawings of IJN weapons. You can also try looking for the Tamiya 'Random IJN Details" books, Vol. 1 & 2. They can still be found on the market.
I would suggest contacting Bill Gruner at Pacific Front Hobbies. He’ll get you set up with references and drawings.
