Airfix lightning close to completion

Just a quick update shot of the assembled landing gear

Bit more work on the IFR probe, some bits to tidy up, some minor decaling and the canopy to paint, should be another 24 hours or so.

still looking great skii. I am truly envious

Looking better all the time. Thanks for sharing.

that gear has many cycles on it…

Cheers AWood , rjkplasticmod, and cirikili

should have it polished off soon, many thanks for the words of encouragement.

It looks fantastic, Skii…!

Remarkable - I have recently bought the Grand Phoenix kit - Airfix aircraft, Aires P/E and resin cockpit etc. with the EagleStrike decals. I may be contacting you for guidance - as matter of interest what where your sources of reference?? Fortunately there is a Lightning in the RAF Museum which can be photographed.

Many thanks DJ

Many thanks Skii for the sites - on holiday recently we met some ex Lightening pilots and ground crew - they meet now and again in a pub to remember things obviously interesting folk!!

Skii, that plane looks ready to roll.

Great looking build.

Karl

Skii, did you ever consider building the 1/32 Echelon kit?

flightnjoe, pingtang, KJ200, DJM and Midupper - many thanks, - finishing the model off right now !

Miduppergunner - I would love to have been a fly on the wall there

DJM - The Echelon kit looks superb, there are some still available too, I just need to gather the courage to try a vacform kit one day :o
