Airfix FW 189 interior photo

[:D] Hey guys, Having been inspired by the great work that is posted here I have gone and started my first attempt at serious detailing. This is the old 1/72nd Airfix Fw 189. More photos will come as the work progresses. I am still looking for good reference photos of the interior. Right now I am using a cut away drawing and the TLAR (That Looks About Right) method to size and place items. Many thanks to my beautiful wife for helping me post the photo.
Cheers,
Eric

Looking good so far… you’ve said that is your first attempt for detailing?.. it looks very good… more pics please…

That is fantastic. I’m still too chicken to attempt that sort of stuff.

Looks pretty damn fine to me keep up the excellent work, I also had a go at scratch building an old airfix except mine was the Typhoon its pretty hard work and you have to have a vision of the final model if you want to achieve!

P.S Did Italeri also make a 1/72 Fw189? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen on e some where?

Brave work. Must be hard getting the detail in on that scale. What size are the extrusions you’re using? I’ve been using some 0.5mm x 0.2mm strip on a detailing job I did on the undercarriage bays for a Dynavector 1/48 Wyvern (vac), and it’s tricky to handle the parts at that size. I lost a few bits to the carpet monster when they shot off the bench during cutting! Keep it up [;)]

they did, it’s the same as the mpm kit
