i am not positive on this but i think its the Minicraft kit.

I am not sure either. But Airfix made its own B-17G way back in the 60’s, and I’ve built it before. If this is the re-pack of their own old kit, you will need lots of major modifications(sanding, re-build cockpit, reset panel lines, you name it) on it. BTW, welcome to the flyboys/flygirls club[:)].

There are two Airfix 1/72 B-17Gs. The current version is the excellent Academy-Minicraft reboxed. It comes in a box showing an Olive Drab/ Neutral Gray B-17G flying from left to right. The old one, which dates from the early 1960s, is strong on moving parts, but weak on detail and accuracy. It comes in a box showing ‘A Bit of Lace’ in natural metal with a yellow tail, flying from right to left. The new one is the one to go for. The decals are typical Airfix quality, but there is lots of aftermarket stuff out there.
