Airfix 1/72 TSR.2 build report

Glad you liked it! The Xtradecal sheet had badges for 16 Sqn. for the NEAF markings, but I decided I wanted to have some nose art, and I found Johnnie Walker and the 9 Sqn. badges on a RoG 1/72 Tornado GR.1/1a that I had in the stash.

Cheers,

Chris.

Chris, great looking build.

My father worked in the aerosapce industry for much of his life, and always talked about how great the TSR2 really was.

Thanks for sharing.

Karl

I’m glad you mentioned that Chris, after building things with tracks and mud for a while I fancy trying a couple of a/c, but not done any since was a nipper…but that Revell Tonka with 9Sqn decals might be a good place to start?

Yes indeed, Apart from being very silghtly over-scale, it’s a very fine kit, and about as near to a tank as the RAF have operated since the Hawker Hurricane IIC.

Here’s a WIP article:

I would say, don’t try to get the swing wings to work, just model them fully forward, with the pylons set at the appropriate angle.

Cheers,

Chris.

Very nice job indeed. Love the camo scheme. Love the subject come to think of it. Excellent all round.
