Breaking news- I built another a Spitfire! [:D]
I posted a build report too.
It’s the Airfix 1/48 Mk. I kit- very enjoyable build. Neat to have that two-balded prop. Here’s a few pics… more in the build report:

Sweet build, JWB.
I also like the two-bladed prop ![]()
Someday, I’d like to make one of the early prototype Spitfires.
Nice job there Jon. It is a nice change to see an early MkI Spitfire as opposed to the more common subjects. I like the natural metal underside finish. It was also nice to see the build up in this months issue of the mag of the prototype Spitfire. A long neglected subject.

Great Spitfire, the 2 bladed prop looks cool.
My goodness, Jon, the last thing I anticipated from your desk was a Spitfire…nice change of pace![:-^]
Very well done…the 2 bladed prop is nice, indeed. This should look nice on your shelf next to, well…the plethera of Spitfires!!
LOL Yeah until I saw the photos I thought you were having a go at us. A Spitfire… yeah right.
Looks real nice though.[tup]
Top work as usuall Jon. You definately have the hang of those spits. I think ive found you next one though. Far better scheme as well. LOL.

Very nice build and finish Jon.
I always liked the look of those earlier roundels with the wide yellow outside band. Kinda makes me wonder why they bothered with a camo scheme when they painted those on though. They just scream out “Here I Am !”
Chris
Wow Jon,
A Spitfire! Who da thunk it! No really Jon great work. You have really honed you modeling skills! You really have a blessed touch when it comes to your models.

Nice to see you get out of your comfort zone and try something different Jon.
Nice build. What on the bench next… a spitfire perhap’s
Thad
IL2windhawk- Thanks! I’m waiting for someone to come out with a conversion set to make the Airfix Mk. I into K5054.
Luftwoller- Trust me, I have plans to build a Luftwaffe Spitfire! [:D]
KINGTHAD- Thanks! LOL Next up- well, I got this load of Spitfire decals… [;)]
soulcrusher, wyoroy, mucker, wing_nut, Bossman, zipmeister- Thanks so much guys! I appreciate the kind words and encouragement.
Actually, on the bench right now is a Revell SBD and Pegasus Hobbies Hurricane. Soon to start is a Hasegawa Ar234 and Accurate Miniatures P-39. Then another Spitfire or five. [:D]

That’s funny Jon! You aren’t serious, are you? I mean, won’t the known universe implode if something other than a spit comes within 10 feet of your bench?
LOL I couldn’t resist…you know, the whole piling on thing.[:D] Great build![tup]
I know it’s risky… [:D]
I hope the Hurricane will keep the world in balance temporarily, until the Spitfire is back in build. [;)]
I think I am going to pull the Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk. I (or maybe the XVI) out of the stash and quick build it.
Breaking news- I built another a Spitfire! [:D]
You mean this isn’t your first, Jon? [:P]
Great work as usual, and I like the 2-bladed prop…not something we normally see around here. [tup]
Spitfire…Jwb?..next thing you know Wingnut will be scratch building details on 144 kits…[%-)]
Nice work Jon, looking forward to reading the review on your site. Never thought I’d live to see the day when a Spitfire came off of your bench. Did I just say that out loud? [%-)]
