Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk I 92 Sqd, Flown by Lt RRS Tuck over Dunkirk

Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk I 92 Sqd, Flown by Lt RRS Tuck over Dunkirk.

Tuck scored the first two victories over Dunkirk in first combat action flying to protect the evacuation. In short order Tuck would be an ace, and by the time he was shot down over France on January 28th 1942 he was one of the leading British aces with over 29 confirmed kills. Tuck would become part of the Great Escape Opeperation, but did not get out during the big escape. He later did escape to first Poland then Russia and made his way home from the Russian port of Odessa.

I like it. Is this the new Airfix kit? Which paints did you use?

Kit has been out awhile, it has some problems.

The black and white are testors rattle cans, the upper works are from the Vallejo RAF day fighter set.

The decals are after market from a set called aces of the British Empire that has over FORTY different ace flown spits.

Looks great - I love early Spitfires!
