Does anyone have a source for very thin solder that could be used detail wire aicraft wheel wells or similar? Any alternate suggestions? I find fine copper wire is sometimes too stiff to bend to the correct shape. Thanks
My local Radio Shack stocks a variety of sizes down to .010, might be a good place to start.

Also, try any Craft store and look for beading wire. You can get it very thin and it’s inexpensive.

Rip apart anything electronic you’re disposing of…there you might find many useful tidbits for detailing models. Solder can get very pricey…check the plumbing supplies too, plumbers solder on sale can be used for larger pipes and hoses because of its larger diameter than electronics solder.
Old electric motor windings are great sources for soft copper wire. I have a huge selection of it in various diameters as well.
Just remember that they apply a protectant to the components. Wash with a solvent to remove it before using it in your build project.
I bought some 0.015" lead wire at a fly fishing shop. I also have some 0.0075" wire, which I think I got at a Radio Shack.

Got a roll from www.modelexpo-online.com a few months ago…
Thanks! All great ideas. A few I never thought of. I’ll check with Model Expo and share my pics this week. Again appreciate the input.
