Thought I would add my pictures. These are all Monogram 1/48. The natural metal is Floquil RR Platinim Mist or Old Silver. They are oob.

I have a few to post-- the quality of the pics isn’t great as these were taken with the old camera and I no longer have the models to take better pics of [:(]

This is one of the very first models I ever built…the old Testors kit-- I hand painted this as I had never heard of an airbrush at that point…

And here is a more recent one-- the first one in fact that I ever used an airbrush on-- a local Tuskegee Airman flew this one in the war and now has this in his living room:

Here is my Tamiya 1/48 p-51D. It has True Details cockpit and wheels, an instrument panel I stole from an Eduard PE Zoom set, and superscale decals for Ridge Runner III. It was my first NMF (I used SNJ and their powder). I built it for a friend’s birthday and was playing around with making a grassy field base for photographing at that time. Now I think the grassy field looks very unrealistic and out of place…oh well live and learn.

TALKING ON THE P-51B:

I saw in a book that the first P-51B´s that got into Europe were all olive drab over neutral grey, (guess it was the 9th A.F.??) they didnt have any white ID bands, my question is: Is this true? i havent been able to confirm or deny this so any help will be highly appreciated.

In honor of a great airplane. Here are 2 older builds with several more in the stash waiting to join the 2 already completed. The first one is Acc Miniatures A-36 Apache:

Built a few years ago. 2nd Mustang, is another Acc Min kit, Using the P-51B kit and using RAF markings and building it as a Mk.II

So many Mustang kits out there and really nice ones too.
